Sara Ramirez, a Mexican-American actor and singer is extremely well-known. Her mother was her primary caregiver in the USA and she was subject to many racial taunts that left her feeling like a non-person. It was during her ninth year that she started to feel more confident after receiving a rousing ovation during an audition. This not only increased confidence in herself, but it also changed the direction she wanted to go in her career. The 22-year-old earned a degree from the Julliard School in New York. She started her professional journey at age 23 with Paul Simon's The Capeman on Broadway and You've Got Mail in film. The biggest achievement of her career was with her portrayal of The Lady of The Lake on Spamalot's initial Broadway production. In addition to being the only actress to receive the Tony Award, but her performance was also highly praised by the critics. She gained more recognition by appearing on Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. In addition to being an acclaimed singer she also released her own solo album as well as an extended version.
